Help Us Help is excited to announce two Summer Job Opportunities for students supported through Canada Summer Jobs!

To be eligible, applicants must be:

  • Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment

  • A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act* (*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents)

  • Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.

Project Administration Officer

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Program Manager to orchestrate and execute Help Us Help’s Summer Camp.

  • Cultivate leadership skills by effectively managing project participants, including volunteers.

  • Offer support to the Senior Program Manager as required.

  • Engage in specialized training related to charity operations, encompassing digital tools (eTapestry/JustGiving, Excel, Canva, Squarespace), understanding the charity’s background (mission/vision/values/projects), and honing communication skills for constituents (donors/volunteers) and client services.

  • As a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children and war-torn families in Ukraine, every employee will learn to advocate for vulnerable groups.

  • Given the modest full-time staff, teamwork is integral to this role. Flexibility in roles and responsibilities is expected, requiring collaboration with colleagues to address priorities set by the Help Us Help Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer.

  • Direct reporting and collaboration with the Senior Program Manager, who reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Help Us Help

Qualifications:
  • No prior experience is necessary, but desirable assets include fundraising experience, fluency in written and spoken Ukrainian, and grant writing experience.

  • Applicants should have access to a laptop or computer during work hours.

Details:
  • Term: 8 weeks at 35 hours per week.

  • Hourly wage: $18.00

  • Location: Toronto, ON. Some remote work may be assigned.


Social Media Coordinator

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in charity-specific training, including but not limited to: applicable digital/online programs (eTapestry/JustGiving, excel, Canva, Squarespace etc.), charity’s background (mission/vision/values/projects), constituent (donor/volunteer) and client communications and services

  • Collaborate with the Senior Program Manager and Office Manager to develop a comprehensive marketing and communications plan, anticipating major projects and events based on historical data.

  • Create compelling content and templates for press releases, donor communications, marketing materials, and online newsletters for Help Us Help.

  • Manage and curate content for the Help Us Help website using Squarespace.

  • Collaborate with the Office Manager to create engaging and visually appealing content that aligns with the organization's mission and resonates with the target audience.

  • Lead and execute social media activities for various Help Us Help projects, including content creation, posting schedules, and engagement strategies.

  • Respond to inquiries and collaborate with potential partners on social media platforms for enhanced client service.

  • Provide leadership in marketing and communications for diverse projects and purposes.
