Twenty First Summer Camp

In August 2016, Help Us Help the Children will be hosting our 21st Summer Camp in the Carpathian Mountains, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. Our camp participants are primarily orphan children from all regions of Ukraine. In response to the War in the East and the Annexation of Crimea, we have also began inviting children who have been affected by the War and Crimean Tatar refugee children.

21st Summer Camp

Each year, we invite the most deserving 200-500 participants ranging from 12-18 years of age to spend two blissful weeks in nature, away from the institutional life they have grown up in. Help Us Help the Children Summer Camp is a very unique experience for all of the participants. As orphan children, our participants are not used to the amount of individual attention given to them and to the meticulously prepared camp program tailored to their needs. Many of our camp participants have severe physical disabilities and our camp becomes the first time in their lives they are placed into groups with children who do not have physical disabilities, and the first time they are treated equally.

21st Summer Camp

The goal of our camp is simple: to make these children understand that they are loved and that they can achieve anything they put their minds to despite the social challenges facing orphan children in Ukraine. Over the course of two weeks, the participants take part in many skill building programs, creative workshops, sport and informative sessions. We aim to mix fun with transferable life skills, memories and information these children will be able to use once they leave the orphanage system at the young age of 18. We have seen many success stories, but there is more work to be done.

21st Summer Camp

Help Us Help the Children can only continue to do the work we have been doing in Ukraine for over two decades because of the support of our sponsors and dedication of our volunteers. YOU are making a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable children in Ukraine, and for that we thank you.
